Second Annual New Evangelical Virtual Pancake Breakfast!

*Warning: Fundraiser Alert*

We have room for 3,000 of our closest friends at our second annual Virtual Pancake Breakfast, and we want you to be part of it.

What is a virtual pancake breakfast, you ask? First, buy a ticket for $10 (fully tax-deductible, by the way). Then early Saturday morning, September 15, 2012, wake up in the morning, fix yourself some pancakes, and chow down! You'll be in the good virtual company of thousands who do the same in support of the New Evangelical Partnership for the Common Good.

But wait- what good would a fundraising breakfast be if you ate by yourself? We've solved that for you! Buy a virtual table for $100 and bring ten friends (or however many you'd like) to your home or your favorite restaurant. Spend time with people you love. Talk about things that matter. And again, you'll be joining with thousands of other New Evangelicals doing the same thing.

If you choose to buy a table for $100, we'll “sweeten the deal” by sending you a copy of "A New Evangelical Manifesto: A Kingdom Vision for the Common Good." We'll also send some questions for you to discuss. And if you will, write up a short essay on what you talked about and we'll put it on our web site.

And why are we doing this? Because it's election season!

While the New Evangelical Partnership is not a political organization, we do see ourselves as full participants in our American democracy. New Evangelicals have just as much right to participate in our democracy as anyone else. We have a Jesus-guided vision of what our society might look like, and we wish to see our society work for everyone, especially those Jesus calls us to love the most.

Election season is a time when we Americans awaken from our slumber and start thinking about issues that matter. It's the perfect time for the New Evangelical Partnership to be part of the conversation.

So, to that end, we're holding a major press event in Washington, DC, in September. A recent rash of violence against houses of worship have taken place in past weeks. We all remember the incident in which Sikh worshipers were gunned down; since then Mosques have been burned, shot at, and attacked in other ways. As Richard Cizik said on the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks: "Watch out when you so casually tread upon the religious liberty of others. You may be able to do that while you are the majority. But if you undermine liberty for other people's children today, your own children may one day see their liberties deprived of them." Our new book, and our film "Islam in America: the Christian Truth," help us tell another narrative, one of radical respect and love for neighbor.

Will you help us tell that story?

Major donors will have their names displayed on the platform at the September event and will be recognized before the national press as key supporters of our cause. The names of all contributors during this Virtual Pancake Breakfast will be listed on the event program.

Thank you for your prayers and for your support. We look forward to hearing from you during this fun time of support and conversation!

The New Evangelical Partnership for the Common Good is a 501(c)(3) organization.
